Where the researchers targeted 25 participants over the age of 55, and they were divided into groups as follows:

  • The first group: Consisted of 14 participants who participated in yoga classes for one hour per week and a meditation session for 20 minutes per day, for a period of time amounting to approximately 12 weeks.
  • The second group: It included 11 participants, who joined training to stimulate memory one hour per week, in addition to doing 20 minutes of memory exercises per day, for 12 weeks.

The researchers found that all participants showed improvement in verbal memory skills at the end of the experiment, after 12 weeks.

Participants who practiced yoga and meditation also decreased feelings of depression and frustration compared to others.
